When your work puts you in front of an audience—as a public speaker, podcast host, author, or entrepreneur—your portraits help introduce you before you ever say a word. Through personal branding photography, I help professionals throughout the Portland, Oregon, Vancouver, Washington and surrounding areas, create images that reflect their personality and support the work they do.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a series of stylized headshots for SirBenjamin Bennett. The images will accompany his new website and help promote his work as a speaker, podcast host, and author.
It is a rare occurrence to meet someone as inspirational as SirBenjamin. His journey of overcoming poverty and personal obstacles speaks to the power of purpose, determination, and perseverance. Through his e-book, The Kid Who Ate from the Dumpster, and his public speaking and other endeavors, he shares his story to inspire others and show what is possible beyond difficult beginnings.
His story challenged me to push myself creatively. I wanted to create portraits that reflected his strength, personality, and vision while giving him images he could use across his different pursuits. Exploring expressive lighting and thoughtful posing helped bring that approach to life.
That is what I enjoy about personal branding sessions: creating photographs with a clear purpose and a person’s individual story in mind. For speakers, authors, and podcast hosts, those images can become part of a website, speaker biography, book promotion, podcast profile, or social media presence.
