Karen and Andrew flew in from California to exchange their wedding vows in front of their immediate family members at the Portland Rose Garden. In fact, everyone who was in attendance flew in – so really it was a destination wedding here in Portland. I loved the simplicity of Karen and Andrew’s wedding celebration. Guests arrived moments before the ceremony start time and gathered around to witness the couple exchange their vows.
We captured portraits with family members immediately following the ceremony and then spent time wandering around the garden, enjoying the views, and capturing lots of portraits of the couple. Karen and Andrew scheduled their wedding toward the later part of the day so by the time it came to capturing portraits, we nearly had the entire garden to ourselves. It was perfect for capturing portraits.
Everyone then headed over to Bernie’s Southern Bistro for dinner and drinks. The private outdoor patio area made the perfect setting for guests to enjoy time together. A joyous cake cutting and personal toasts from the guests made a great conclusion to the evening.
Weddings can be as complex or as simple as you wish and it is always refreshing to capture a couple enjoying their day exactly how they intended. Congratulations to Karen & Andrew.
