Believe it or not, the original plan for Krysta and Kevin’s maternity session was to meet up on Mt Hood for a session out in the snow. They wanted to choose a location that would be fun and interactive for their son Liam. I had visions of everything from snow angels to snowball fights. Toward the beginning of the year, Mt Hood was receiving its fair share of snow with storms dumping over 12 inches a day at times. But as we headed into March and April, all that snow began to melt away and so we opted for a different location.
The Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest was in full swing and to be quite honest, I can’t really think of a better location for maternity portraits. The colors are absolutely stunning and the landscape is truly unique. Why fly to Holland when you can drive an hour south and be lost in a field of tulips. It is truly magical and makes for one-of-a-kind portraits.
Liam was extremely excited to have a chance to “drive” the tractor and mom and dad enjoyed a session that was fun for everyone. Everything came together really nicely and even though the weather report suggested otherwise, the sun broke through the clouds and gave us a beautiful warm afternoon.
