In late October 2017, we were flown out to New Hampshire to photograph Sarah Jane and Ken’s wedding. Since my family resides in New England, it was an opportunity to visit with immediate and extended family members as well as attend a New England Patriots game. Whenever I have the chance to fly east during football season, I always make sure to check the schedule for any home games.
I have known Ken ever since he was a young boy. I grew up with his oldest brother as a close friend and spent many school vacations and summers hanging out together. When Ken told me he was engaged, I was honored to be asked to photograph his wedding. As with any destination wedding, I always make sure to arrive a handful of days in advance of the wedding day. This allows a buffer in case of any flight delays and enables us to connect in advance to do a complete walkthrough and finalize the details for the day.
The day before the wedding, we met with Sarah Jane and Ken and discussed the details of their wedding day as well as some of the logistics of traveling between locations throughout the wedding day. This allowed the wedding day to flow seamlessly and ensured we were available to capture all the special moments throughout the day.
Sarah Jane and Ken exchanged their wedding vows at Christ the King Parish and held their wedding reception at the New Hampshire Audubon Center. A Peregrine falcon and other birds were on display for guests to enjoy. There were many walking and hiking trails throughout the property for guests to take in the beautiful fall foliage as well. The setting was absolutely stunning and a very unique experience for guests.
After dinner, Sarah Jane setup outside and made a series of balloon animals for the kids. It was a huge hit. The children lined up with their balloon animals and formed an impromptu parade marching through the wedding reception. Here are a number of highlights from Sarah Jane and Ken’s destination wedding in New Hampshire.
