Joan & James | November 6, 2010

Joan & James set the tone for their wedding celebration by inviting their friends and family to join them in Oahu.  With temperatures in the mid-80s and beautiful white sandy beaches as far as the eye can see, Joan & James selected the perfect location.  As guests began arriving throughout the week leading up to the wedding, the excitement and anticipation continued to grow.  Many took the opportunity to explore the island and take in all that Oahu has to offer.

Joan & James selected a beautiful beach house right on the water as the location for their wedding.  The women began the day in the beach house with hair and make up preparations while the guys got ready in the side cottage.  We selected an area down by the waterfront for the couple’s first moment – an area that remained visible from the balcony of the beach house so friends and family could witness the couple seeing each other for the first time.  With the sound of waves crashing in the background and palm trees whistling in the wind, the stage was set and the moment unforgettable.  The same held true for the wedding ceremony with a gorgeous view of the ocean as a backdrop.

Once Joan & James were officially married, guests gathered around for a fun group portrait.  In true Hawaiian spirit, everyone cheered “ALOHA” for the camera.  It was a great way to kick off the reception festivities that included not only a series of wonderful toasts and fun cake cutting, but an incredible performance by a local Polynesian dance group.  As the afternoon festivities continued on, some guests changed into swimming attire and hit the beach.  After all, it was only 10 feet away!

A special thanks to Joan, James, and their families for the wonderful opportunity to document the wedding.  And a special thanks to Alicia with Milestone Events Hawaii for her incredible coordination of the day.
