Barclay Event Rentals

As many of you know, The Bridal Loft held their 10th Anniversary celebration last month.  It was a huge success and we are so thankful to all the vendors who made it possible.  Barclay Event Rentals went over the top and granted us access to tents, an incredible dance floor, bistro tables, and much much more.  We wanted to show our thanks by crashing their  showroom and providing all of their employees some delicious home cooked Hawaiian fare along with some Hawaiian entertainment by the O.H.A.N.A. Foundation.  It was a very fun event and the food was absolutely fabulous.

For those of you who have not been by the Barclay Event Rentals showroom, make sure to check it out.  The family owned and operated event rental company has an extensive inventory that meets any event or wedding need.  Their customer service is top notch and we highly recommend them for any rental needs.  The Barclay Event Rentals team showcases a number of table designs which are changed out regularly.  Each time you visit, you will see a new and different design idea.

BRIX Tavern

Owner Mark Byrum (the man behind Urban Fondue, Bartini, Urban Studio, and Pearl Catering), brings a new restaurant concept into the Pearl District with the launch of BRIX Tavern.  BRIX offers a unique list of cocktails, beer, and local wine along with an array of entertainment from pool tables and darts to classic games and flat screen TVs for watching sports.  Thin crust pizzas baked in a brick oven under the guidance of an in-house Pizza Pie Connoisseur highlight the feature filled menu that is infused with the freshest local ingredients.  For lunch or for dinner, BRIX Tavern is a restaurant to experience.

Here is a fun time lapse we created during the Pre-Opening party at BRIX Tavern:

Vendor Spotlight | Paparazzi Tonight

Looking for a unique experience your guests will love?  Check out the wildly entertaining Paparazzi Tonight.  Guests young and old will line up to put on a costume and get goofy in front of the camera.  Asked to describe the experience, Erik with Paparazzi Tonight said, “Something happens when guests step into our little world.  I don’t know exactly what it is, but whatever it is, I think it really is something great.”

We have photographed many weddings with Paparazzi Tonight providing photo entertainment during the reception.  Guests absolutely love the experience and in no time everyone is sharing and passing around their photos and entering into the booth again and again.

Make sure to check out Paparazzi Tonight for your photo booth style entertainment.

Vendor Spotlight: Perfect Planning

We have worked on a number of weddings and events with Jennifer from Perfect Planning.  She is a wonderful wedding planner who just recently joined us at The Bridal Loft.  Make sure to come by and visit her to discuss your wedding planning needs.  She is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and has a number of cost savings tips and ideas to share:

Think small and intimate.  The quickest way to lower the overall cost of your wedding is having a smaller head count. By having a smaller intimate wedding you have more time to spend with every guest who attends your wedding. Guests appreciate having the one on one time with a bride and groom on the big day, especially when they have traveled a distance to be at your event.

Consider off-season dates.  Having your wedding off-season (November-April) can add up to a lot of savings with booking a venue.  Some venues discount as much as half off!

Did you know that candles are rarely cheaper than flowers?  Many brides are under the impression that fresh flowers are going to “break the bank.”  But when you look at the bottom line, candles are just as much if not more than fresh flowers when creating a beautiful centerpiece for your wedding. Instead, be flexible with your flower selection and choose blooms that are local and in season.  Then, incorporate some pretty votives to create a gorgeous focal point.

Consider going with colored linen.  White, ivory and black are great colors, but at times can be very traditional.  When choosing linens for your wedding, think gorgeous colors.  Black linen is oftentimes the same price as the purple, green and red in the same fabric.

Bridesmaid’s dresses don’t have to be traditional.  Brides have so many new and fresh choices to pick from for bridesmaids dresses. The days of un-bearable hot pink satin dresses are a thing of the past. Realistically all you need to find is a dress that is offered in an assortment of sizes in the color you want.

Buffet is not always the most cost effective service choice.  Many brides assume that a plated dinner is out of their budget. Its always important to get a quote for both.  You may be surprised by your findings. When a wedding is catered in a buffet style the caterer many times has to make extra food so that the buffet always has a look of abundance.  With plated dinners, caterers are working with a smaller margin of extra food.  Extra food = extra money.

Whether you are planning a wedding in town or at a destination, it is important to have strong wedding professionals helping you along the way.
