Amy & Matt | Save the Date Session

Amy & Matt have scheduled their wedding for September 2012 but wanted to take the opportunity to have a Save-The-Date photo session in order to include photos as part of their Save-The-Date cards. It’s a great idea and yet another way that you can customize your wedding photography package with Paul Rich Studio.  If you are planning your wedding and looking for some ideas on how to make your event unique, contact us for details!

When Amy contacted us, she asked for suggestions on where to have the portrait session.  Among the many locations we offered, Amy chose one of our personal favorites – Cathedral Park.  In an email, Amy wrote, “I love Cathedral Park!  If you’re up to it, I would love to shoot there.  Matt and I shared some moments there early in our relationship and it would be nice to have a Portland landmark in the mix.”  So, Cathedral Park made perfect sense!

Here are some highlights from the session:

Lindsay & JR | Engagement Session

When Lindsay told me that she loves fall colors, I knew exactly where to go for their engagement session.  Hoyt Arboretum has one of the most magnificent displays of fall leaves and is a great location for portraits.  We had the opportunity to explore multiple areas throughout the Arboretum and came away with some very fun images.  Thank you Lindsay & JR for the fun portrait session.  I am very much looking forward to the wedding in August!

Joan & James | 1 Year Anniversary Session

Joan & James were married in Oahu on November 6, 2010. I remember it being the perfect time of year to escape the Oregon weather and to head for some Hawaiian sun. Joan & James’ wedding was an unforgettable experience and a true privilege to photograph. A handful of weeks ago, Joan & James contacted us asking to do an anniversary portrait session. What a great idea! So we headed out to one of my favorite locations in Portland – Cathedral Park.

Last year was Oahu.  This year was Portland.  What a perfect way to celebrate!

Emily & Max (and Gummo)

We recently met up with Emily and Max and their dog Gummo for an engagement session in the Pearl District.  Lots of people were out enjoying the beautiful summer weather making it a perfect day to just stroll through the Pearl.  Emily and Max’s dog Gummo gained the attention of many.  He was very excited to be out and about and he did a great job getting his photos taken.

Emily and Max are getting married at the end of August at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse.  Gummo will be the ring bearer.  Stay tuned for photos from their wedding in mid to late September.

Nedra & Greg | Engagement Session

I love photographing engagement sessions.  I get to know my couples better, we get to chat about how things are coming along with the wedding preparations, and at the end of the day we come away with some fun, candid portraits.  It’s just a wonderful experience.  Nedra and Greg chose Cathedral Park for their engagement session location.  I received the sweetest email from Nedra just days before the session asking if it would be ok for them to bring their dog.  Is it ok?  Of course!!!!  Any element that you can include in your engagement photos is highly recommended.  It personalizes your photos and makes them even more meaningful when you look back on them in the years to come.

As we were wrapping up the session, I asked Nedra and Greg if they would be up for heading onto the St John’s Bridge.  It is my favorite way to end engagement sessions at Cathedral Park.  I secretly get an enormous thrill out of stopping traffic to take a photo and the results are always well worth it.

Nedra and Greg’s wedding is now less than 30 days away.  I am looking forward to their wedding and having the opportunity to work with the wildly talented Cindy of Encore Events.  Cindy is a phenomenal wedding planner and is someone you must speak with if you are planning a wedding.
