Back in the summer of 2009, I photographed Teresa and JJ’s wedding at St Mary’s Cathedral and their wedding reception at The Governor Hotel. It was an epic celebration surrounded by the couple’s closest friends and family members. And trust me, JJ’s friends and family know how to party. So, when JJ’s sister Tenley contacted me to photograph her wedding, I knew I was in for another real treat. Combine Tenley’s friends and family with Adam’s and you have the perfect formula for an action packed day.
Adam and his groomsmen made their way over to the Sentinel Hotel (formerly The Governor Hotel), to meet up with the women who were getting ready there. Tenley and Adam had an opportunity to see each other for the first time and to capture some fun portraits throughout the hotel. We then hopped on a shuttle and drove up to the Portland Art Museum for additional photos with family and wedding party members.
The shuttle then took everyone over to the Leftbank Annex for the wedding ceremony and reception. The couple’s wedding ceremony was extremely fun and upbeat with unique vows that Tenley and Adam wrote for each other. Cocktail hour was held downstairs with delicious hors d’oeuvres passed around for everyone. Food stations were made available for guests and were laid out in such a way as to encourage mingling amongst guests. Chicken and waffles and the deviled egg bar were by far the crowd favorite.
After toasts and cake cutting, the couple had their first dance and then the party was kicked into high gear with Eric from All Wright Music at the helm. The dance floor remained very active throughout the night. Tenley and Adam snuck away at one point to put on their custom LED light sneakers. They were truly a hit.
When we first hand selected the highlights from Tenley and Adam’s wedding, we chose just over 100 photos. We narrowed the selection down and then narrowed it down again. There are a ton of great photos from Tenley and Adam’s wedding and we can’t wait to officially launch the couple’s online gallery of images next week. Make sure to vote on your favorite images below!
