Weddings at the Lan Su Chinese Garden in downtown Portland are absolutely spectacular. Guests have the unique experience of traveling through time to another era in a faraway land. The Lan Su Chinese Garden melds Chinese art, architecture, and design to create one of the most authentic Chinese gardens outside of China.
In the summer months, the garden is open to the public until 6pm. It is one of the main sites for visitors to see when visiting the city of Portland. Catie and Allen scheduled their wedding day to begin at the garden at 6pm. With a location right across the street for getting ready, we were able to conveniently enter the garden and coordinate a first moment for Catie and Allen to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. We then strolled throughout the Lan Su Chinese Garden for a wonderful collection of portraits taking full advantage of all that the garden has to offer.
The wildly talented Rebekah Johnson assisted me during the wedding ceremony to capture a variety of different angles. A leisure cocktail hour followed the ceremony where guests were encouraged to walk throughout the garden. Multiple food stations were located throughout the garden for guests to take in the sights and enjoy some nibbles.
