Vanessa & Jeff tied the knot at the Jenkins Estate on August 11, 2013. The venue is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is situated amongst 68 acres of lush gardens and breathtaking views. The Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District recently formed a partnership with Elephants Catering to manage and cater all events held at the estate. In fact, Vanessa & Jeff’s wedding was the very first to occur under this partnership.
The Jenkins Estate is the perfect blend of everything I love about the Northwest. The tall trees, lush greenery, and beautiful streaming light make this rustic setting an incredible location for a wedding. It is truly a photographer’s delight.
There was a great moment during Vanessa & Jeff’s wedding ceremony when Reverend Cathy Hume began reading the couple’s vows for them to recite. She began with Vanessa and just as she began to read the vows, Vanessa proclaimed, “I do!” Realizing that she said it too quickly, Vanessa gasped and all the guest erupted in laughter. Unscripted moments like these are so memorable and fun and Vanessa’s expression was absolutely priceless.
I made sure to schedule extra time to capture portraits of Vanessa & Jeff. With the property being so expansive, the options are truly endless. The day flowed together seamlessly thanks to all the hard work by Jeannine with Panache Weddings & Events and the food was absolutely scrumptious thanks to Elephants Catering.
Prospective brides take note: I receive a lot of requests from brides looking for an outdoor venue that offers a real taste of the Northwest coupled with options for an indoor reception. The Jenkins Estate is conveniently located in the Portland area and has so much to offer as a wedding venue. Make sure to add it to your list to check out.
Congratulations to Vanessa & Jeff and thanks Vanessa for the added humor to the wedding ceremony. 🙂
