Wine Country Wedding Professionals

We are a new member of Wine Country Wedding Professionals and absolutely love attending their regular meetings out in wine country.  This month’s event was hosted by Methven Family Vineyards.  The wine, the setting, and the fabulous food all came together to make for a very fun networking event.  It is an opportunity for vendors from all aspects of the industry to come together and share their unique services.  The evening was coordinated by Becky from No Ordinary Affair with Francoise Weeks European Floral Design, Premiere Catering, Smitten Artisan Truffles, Barclay Event Rentals, and Bravo Publications as featured vendors for the evening.  A special thanks to all the vendors who participated in the event and to Methven Family Vineyards for all the incredible wine!

Elisabeth & Christopher | May 6, 2012

Elisabeth and Christopher (who are more commonly known as Beth & Po amongst friends and family) were recently married at the Alderbrook Resort & Spa in Union, WA.  The luxurious getaway is surrounded by the Olympic Mountains and quaintly nestled on the shore of the Hood Canal.  Enter on to the property and you can’t help but unwind and relax.  It was the perfect setting for Beth & Po’s wedding.

There is something magical that happens whenever I have the opportunity to work with Cindy from Encore Events.  Her talents as a wedding planner are extraordinary and when given the opportunity, she works with couples to assemble an all-star team of vendors to make the day flow seamlessly.  A special thanks to Hybrid Moon Video Productions, Adam’s DJ Service, Steve with A Beautiful Ceremony NW, and all the others who worked together to make the wedding day extra special.

Here are some of our favorites from Beth & Po’s wedding:

Marco’s Cafe

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a handful of food dishes for Marco’s Cafe – a locally owned and operated family business.  Located in Multnomah Village, the historic building was originally built as a local grocery in 1913.  It served a multitude of purposes over the years (at one time even being the local post office), and since 1983 has been a restaurant.  Marco’s is well known for their breakfasts and lunches, but they also offer an eclectic mix of dinner specials throughout the week.  They have a healthy amount of beer on tap and offer a nice selection of wine.

If you are in the area, please make sure to stop by and check out their great menu!

Hendricks’ 1 Year Session

The timing of Hendricks’ 1st birthday was absolutely perfect as it aligned with the Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest!  Having lived in Oregon for many years, I have always heard of the tulip fest, but never actually had the opportunity to see it in person.  I recommended the location for Hendricks’ 1 Year Session and was so glad that we were able to make it happen.  Hendricks wore the cutest red boots and absolutely loved running around amongst all the tulips.  He even had the chance to climb up on a big tractor.  Here are some of our favorites from the session.

We will be hosting a huge portrait special during next year’s Tulip Fest.  We are limiting the special to just 10 families.  If this location interests you, make sure to leave a comment below and we will pre-register you for this event!

Hendricks’ 1st Birthday Party

Guess what?  Hendricks just celebrated his first birthday!  And with a mom who is an exceptional planner with Champagne Wedding & Events, you know that no detail is going to be over-looked.  Rachelle chose a Peter Rabbit themed birthday party for Hendricks complete with carrots, rabbit shaped sandwiches, cute cupcake toppers, and mini pots filled with crushed Oreo cookies (made to look like dirt) with gummy worms.  The spread was an absolute hit with the guests.

There were all sorts of games to play both for the children and the adults.  Guests were asked to bring a photo of themselves as a young child.  Rachelle displayed all of the photos to have guests guess who they represented.  It was very cute to see an image from Hendricks’ newborn session.  I think everyone guessed that one right!  The rest were quite challenging and it was fun to see what everyone looked like as a young child.

After opening gifts, Hendricks then had his big moment.  The chance to eat as much cake as he wanted!  Rachelle brought out the cake she made specially for him as everyone sang “Happy Birthday.”  He seemed to start off slow, taking just a few small bites, but then quickly progressed to shoveling handfuls of cake into his mouth.  Turning 1 is very sweet indeed!
