Baby Owen was born on Feb 10, 2012 at 11:41am weighing 7 lbs. 2.5 oz and 19 inches long. We were so excited to have the opportunity to photograph him in his new owl outfit from Auntie Kay with Flowers For You. We have known Kay for many years through the wedding industry, having worked on a number of weddings together, and were thrilled to hear about her new nephew. Here are some of our favorites from Baby Owen’s newborn session:

For those of you who are not familiar with photo bombing, it is the fine art of spoiling a photograph by jumping in on the action. Things like running around in the background, making silly faces, and employing other disruptive behaviors all constitute great photo bombing techniques. To learn more about this fine art, check out the Photo Bomber’s Handbook.
So to increase the stakes and to make for an evening of networking and fun, we welcomed participants to Photo Bomb us throughout the evening. We have posted some highlights of the event below, but most importantly, we ask for you to vote for the best Photo Bomber of the evening. We are accepting votes up until midnight on Sunday March 18th. The individual who receives the most votes will be deemed the Best Photo Bomber of the evening and will be awarded with a complimentary professional headshot at our studio. Spread the word and vote now!
Each year, I make an effort to attend the annual WPPI event in Vegas. It is mecca for wedding photographers. This year, there were an estimated 14,000 attendees. I go each year to stay current on what is new in the industry and to connect with my peers who are doing the same. A couple of years ago, I remember having a discussion about what are the top 10 things that contribute to the success of your business the most. Our cameras are naturally at the top of the list. Many agreed that Photoshop was high up on the list as well. But then came the other aspects of our business that are maybe lesser known.
For me, I made sure that Pandora made the top 10. It keeps me going through the long days of editing. Without it, I know I would not be nearly as productive. If I were to really narrow my list down to the top 5 things that contribute most to the success of my business, I know that Fundy’s Album Builder software would make the list. It is almost as important to me as my camera! Every album we design is done through Fundy’s Album Builder. It is quick, efficient, and incredibly easy to use.
For all of you photographers out there who struggle with designing albums, this is the software you must check out! In fact, Fundy even offers a 2 week free trial. Jerry Ghionis just won the 2012 Album of the Year at WPPI and guess what software he used? You guessed it – Fundy’s Album Builder.
We recently designed a sample album for our studio at The Bridal Loft using Fundy’s Album Builder and Fundy was kind enough to blog about our design. Check out his Tip of the Week on designing studio samples. Here are just a few pages of our newest studio sample that is on display:
Lindsay & JR recently stopped by our studio to do a loose, fun Save-the-Date session. They already have their engagement photos captured from this past fall when the fall colors were at their best. It was great seeing them again and we very much look forward to their wedding this summer. Can you guess their date?
