Baby Allison

Tiffany & Aaron were married on Sept 12, 2009 at The Inn at Cooper Spur. Highlights from their wedding are displayed in their online wedding slideshow.  The location is absolutely ideal for those seeking an outdoor rustic location that is away from it all.

On June 21, 2011, Tiffany & Aaron welcomed baby Allison into the world at 10:17pm.  She weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and was 21.5″ long.  We had the opportunity to meet up recently for a photo session at Hoyt Arboretum.  Tiffany & Aaron are proud parents of a beautiful little girl who simply cannot stop smiling.  When mom or dad say her name, she lights up like a light bulb.

Congratulations to Tiffany & Aaron!  It was such a treat to meet baby Allison.

These just make me smile.

The Siegel Family

When the family gets together for the holidays, its the perfect time for family portraits. It is a great way to document the time that you spend together and the photographs make for wonderful gifts. The Siegel family wanted to capture some portraits in downtown Portland in an area that captured lots of fall colors. The Park Blocks seemed like the perfect location.

Newest Addition to the Family

We have had the opportunity to photograph Baby Sawyer many times in the past and when we heard of the most recent addition to the family — Baby Paloma — we were very excited to capture some updated family photos.  Paloma was welcomed into the world on September 25, 2011.  Sawyer is very excited about being the big brother.  He has grown so much since we saw him last.

Here are some of our favorites from the portrait session:

Amy & Matt | Save the Date Session

Amy & Matt have scheduled their wedding for September 2012 but wanted to take the opportunity to have a Save-The-Date photo session in order to include photos as part of their Save-The-Date cards. It’s a great idea and yet another way that you can customize your wedding photography package with Paul Rich Studio.  If you are planning your wedding and looking for some ideas on how to make your event unique, contact us for details!

When Amy contacted us, she asked for suggestions on where to have the portrait session.  Among the many locations we offered, Amy chose one of our personal favorites – Cathedral Park.  In an email, Amy wrote, “I love Cathedral Park!  If you’re up to it, I would love to shoot there.  Matt and I shared some moments there early in our relationship and it would be nice to have a Portland landmark in the mix.”  So, Cathedral Park made perfect sense!

Here are some highlights from the session:

Lindsay & JR | Engagement Session

When Lindsay told me that she loves fall colors, I knew exactly where to go for their engagement session.  Hoyt Arboretum has one of the most magnificent displays of fall leaves and is a great location for portraits.  We had the opportunity to explore multiple areas throughout the Arboretum and came away with some very fun images.  Thank you Lindsay & JR for the fun portrait session.  I am very much looking forward to the wedding in August!

Joan & James | 1 Year Anniversary Session

Joan & James were married in Oahu on November 6, 2010. I remember it being the perfect time of year to escape the Oregon weather and to head for some Hawaiian sun. Joan & James’ wedding was an unforgettable experience and a true privilege to photograph. A handful of weeks ago, Joan & James contacted us asking to do an anniversary portrait session. What a great idea! So we headed out to one of my favorite locations in Portland – Cathedral Park.

Last year was Oahu.  This year was Portland.  What a perfect way to celebrate!

Marlene & Paul | October 15, 2011

Marlene and Paul were married on October 15, 2011 at the First Unitarian Church in downtown Portland.  Family members arrived early to assist with setup and everything was going smoothly.  Conversation started circulating about an Occupy Portland march that was going on and how it may impact guest’s ability to arrive to the church on time.  I stepped outside for a moment to grab some exterior shots of the church when all of a sudden, I noticed the Occupy Portland crowd heading toward the church.  As they say, “Always expect the unexpected on the wedding day.”  This was certainly the case but additionally made for a memorable moment to the day.  The march continued on peacefully and gave lots to talk about, but most importantly, the wedding continued on time and without interruption.

During the reception, Paul took a moment to thank all of the guests for attending the wedding and then surprised Marlene by singing her a song.  He really got into it and had the guests laughing and singing in unison.  Congratulations to Marlene & Paul!
