The Bell Family

After finishing Hendricks’ newborn session back in April of this year, I made Rachelle & Donny promise me that we would meet up again for a 6 month and 12 month session.  Hendricks is just so darn cute and I love seeing how much he has grown up each time I see him.  For his 6 month session, we chose the location of a park that is just walking distance from Rachelle & Donny’s house.  Since they frequently spend time at the park together, it seemed like the perfect location to take photos.  I think about all the memories that these images will stir up over the years for Rachelle & Donny as their son grows up and their local park takes on a greater and greater amount of history together.  Here are just a few of our absolute favorites:

Courtney & Ken | November 12, 2011

Courtney & Ken were surrounded by their closest friends and family members for an intimate wedding ceremony on November 12, 2011.  They exchanged their vows at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  Following the ceremony, Courtney & Ken had set aside a couple of hours to go off and have photos taken together.  It began with a quick trip over to a local park.  Even though it was raining, Courtney & Ken wanted to stick with the original plan that we had developed just prior to the wedding day.  Knowing that the two of them are quite adventurous, I came prepared with my favorite umbrella prop.  It is a completely transparent bubble umbrella.  Any excuse I have to use it, I take.

We captured some very fun photos of Courtney, Ken, and his daughter Avery.  But, we still had plenty of time for even more photos and the light was fading fast.  I had to think of a good indoor location fast.  And it needed to be relatively close by as well because I wanted to maximize the time I had with them for photos.  So, we jointly decided on the Benson Hotel in downtown Portland.  I just love their lobby area with the fireplace and sweeping staircase.  With the session complete, we headed to the Hall Street Grill for a reception dinner with guests.

Congratulations to Courtney & Ken!

Vintage Wedding Rentals

Have you heard the latest news?  Champagne Wedding and Event Coordination has added a vintage rental line to their services.  Their eclectic offerings include everything you need from tea cups and saucers to dinner plates, cake stands, and more.  We recently had the opportunity to check out their rentals and couldn’t believe the variety of options.  If you are looking for something a little different for your wedding, make sure to check out Champagne’s Vintage Wedding Rentals.  They were even recently featured on Style Unveiled.

The Trewhella Family

The Trewhella family came by the studio to capture a holiday portrait of the family.  However, thanks to mom, a number of outfits were arranged to create a lot of variations.  The family worked like clockwork getting into a variety of different outfits and we came away with a bunch of great portraits.  Check out some of these great color combinations!  Kim mentioned that this was the first time that they had gotten together as a family for a photo session.  They should do this every year!  Don’t you think?

Grand Opening | 2nd Studio Location

With the success of our office located at The Bridal Loft in Portland, OR, we are excited to announce the latest expansion of our business.  We now have a consultation space an hour south of us at Branches & Bloom in the heart of downtown Silverton, OR.  The Grand Opening was this evening and it was a smashing success.  The event was dovetailed with the annual lighting of the Christmas tree just blocks away.  With free coffee, treats, and live music by Ben Rue, passers by couldn’t help but come inside and check things out.  The town is abuzz with the newest addition to downtown Silverton.

We have had the opportunity to work with Branches & Bloom on a number of occasions throughout the years and are so excited to share our work in their new space.  Our favorite part is that the meeting area overlooks Stone Creek Cafe – a cafe that serves Stumptown Coffee.  So, schedule an appointment with us, and come on down for some free coffee and treats on us!
