The way we communicate has forever changed. With wireless technologies and gobs of various social media outlets, we stay in touch and we communicate with those around us with ever-increasing frequency. It is truly phenomenal in scope and supremely powerful in bringing us all together so closely.
I was chatting with Dana on Facebook, a bride we had photographed not just over a week ago. Knowing already that she had just returned from her honeymoon (evidenced by her humorous status updates), I asked her about her travels. In fact, she was online because she was in the process of updating the photos from her trip onto Facebook. How neat!
Well, while we were talking (IM’ing actually), Dana expressed excitement in seeing her photos soon. I told her we were busily working away on the edit and everything was looking great. Dana then mentioned that she was particularly interested in seeing the formal portrait we did together. You see, when Dana sent in her formals list for our review — it included a portrait with me!! I felt so honored. Almost no one asks to have their portrait taken with their photographer! So, rather than slow down their wedding day with a portrait of me, I decided to wait until the VERY end of the evening to take the picture. I thought it was a lovely idea and after chatting with Dana, I decided I should put it up on the blog. I feel like this may be the beginning of a new photo series for me this year. Any other brides interested?
